The 11-hour long mass hunger strike that was called by the All Assam Students Union (AASU) ended at 5 pm on Friday.
The students’ body, however, is firm in its stand to carry out relentless protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
The mass hunger strike, which started at 6 am in the morning, was held at Assam Engineering Institute playground at Chandmari.
The students’ body also took a resolution during the mass hunger strike that it would continue a series of democratic protest against the bill.
Various organisations including the film fraternity of the state also took part in the 11-hour long hunger strike, thereby extending their solidarity with the student’s body. Besides, people from various walks of life also joined the protest.
