Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to hold consultations with different stakeholders in the state on the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Ensuring a proper dialogue on the issue of CAB, Sangma said a delegation of stakeholders including NGOs would go to Delhi to discuss the Bill with the central leaders.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister stated that the State Government has invited Amit Shah to inaugurate the Ri Bhoi police academy.
It may be mentioned that Conrad Sangma had recently met the Union Home Minister in New Delhi and stressed on the need to hold dialogues with political parties and stakeholders to solicit opinions and allay apprehensions concerning the Bill.
