Mizoram: BJP defeats MNF in MADC bypolls

The Bharatiya Janata Party won the by-election to the 1-Tokalo Mara Autonomous District Council constituency in Mizoram. BJP’s M Laikaw secured 484 votes defeating Chotha Hlychho of the Mizo National

The Bharatiya Janata Party won the by-election to the 1-Tokalo Mara Autonomous District Council constituency in Mizoram.

BJP’s M Laikaw secured 484 votes defeating Chotha Hlychho of the Mizo National Front by a margin of 155 votes.

BJP State General Secretary Vanlalhmuaka said that the winning of the by-election in the MADC shows the BJP is resurgent party in Mizoram. He also said that the BJP will always be the contender in the coming elections.

Vanlalhmuaka also said that Congress and other parties in the state have no chance to win the election in the coming days. He said that there will only be a battle between the BJP and the MNF.
