The Meghalaya Government has made it clear that it would not settle for anything less than a full fledged Central Agriculture University.
Meghalaya Agriculture Minister Banteidor said that his government was kept in the dark about the fact that the proposal to set up an agriculture institute at Kyrdemkulai was not to set up an Agriculture University but a College.
Meanwhile, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has threatened to resort to other course of action if Meghalaya is deprived of a full-fledged Central Agricultural University (CAU). The state government is now pursuing the matter with the Centre.
