Mizoram CM Zoramthanga presents state budget of Rs 10,692 cr

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Thursday presented the annual budget in the State Legislature for the year 2019-2020, amounting to Rs 10,692 crores.

Zoramthanga, who also holds the finance portfolio said that he has allocated a token provision of Rs 750 crores for the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Policy.

The chief minister also said that a top priority of his government would be the implementation of three new districts – Hnahthial, Khawzawl and Saitual, which were already created by the MNF in 2008, but refused to be implemented by the ten-year long Congress regime.

The minister allotted an additional amount of Rs 855 lakh for the initial establishment expenses of the new districts. Zoramthanga is also hopeful about a successful and exemplary budget this year.
