Former Tezpur MP and prominent Assam politician Mani Kumar Subba breathed his last in the wee hours of Monday. Subba, who had been long unwell, died at the Artemis Hospital
Former Tezpur MP and prominent Assam politician Mani Kumar Subba breathed his last in the wee hours of Monday. Subba, who had been long unwell, died at the Artemis Hospital in Gurgaon.
Subba had suffered a cardiac arrest in 2014 and had been bed ridden since then. Assam Gorkha Sanmelan general secretary Bhaskar Dahal confirmed Subba’s demise at about 3 am on Sunday.
Subba had represented the Tezpur Lok Sabha seat thrice from the Congress party from 1998 to 2003. He has also been an MLA during his political career and had been president of the Assam Gorkha Sanmelan from 1992 till 2016.
He had also been the former president of the All Assam OBC Association and also the main architect of the Gorkha Development Council.
