The Chief Electoral Officer of Arunachal Pradesh lodged an FIR against Christopher Perme, the son of BJP candidate for Arunachal East Dangi Perme and former MLA Ralom Borang pertaining to an amount of Rs 1.8 cr which was seized by Arunachal police on the 5th of April from two separate vehicles.

The complaint was filed at Pasighat police station in accordance with the directive of the Election Commission of India. While Rs 1 crore was confiscated from a vehicle belonging to Christopher Perme, Rs 80 lakh was seized from another vehicle registered in the name of the state transport department. The money was later claimed by former MLA Ralom Borang.

As per reports, Perme and Borang have been charged for giving a gratification to a person to prompt people to exercise their voting rights. They have also been charged with acts of bribery, undue influence and personation in an election process. An investigation is presently underway to unearth the controversy.

Meanwhile, Mebo BJP candidate Dangi Perme while speaking to Northeast Live has denied having any link to the seizure of Rs 1.8 crore. He said that cash seizure from former MLA Ralom Borang and his son Christopher Perme has nothing to do with him.
