Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid his last tributes to Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at Panaji, who passed away late Sunday evening.

Besides laying a wreath at the mortal remains of the three-time Goa Chief Minister, Prime Minister Modi also interacted with his family members at Kala Bhavan.

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with Goa Governor Mridula Sinha were also present with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Besides Prime Minister Modi, a host of other top leaders and people from all walks of life paid their last respects to the three-time Goa Chief Minister.

Manohar Parrikar died at 6:40 pm last evening after battling for life on support system. His health took a turn for the worse in the past two days.

Since February last year, Parrikar had been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, Delhi and New York after he was diagnosed with a pancreatic cancer.

The four-time Chief Minister had been seen in public outings over the past few months with a nasal tube and a frail form, which provoked opposition attacks on the ruling BJP. Parrikar also served as the Defence Minister of India from 2014 to 2017.
