The opposition in Arunachal Pradesh is up in arms against chief minister Pema Khandu.

A delegation of the opposition including former chief minister Gegong Apang and state Congress president Takam Sanjoy called on Governor BD Mishra yesterday to demand Khandu’s resignation within 3 days.

The opposition asked the Governor to sack Khandu if he refuses to step down stating that it will resolve to agitation if the demand was not met.

The opposition is protesting alleged police high handedness that led to the death of three protesters in the recent anti-PRC agitation in the state capital.

Meanwhile the Arunachal BJP has slammed the opposition over its demand for stepping down of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Briefing media persons in Itanagar a short while ago, BJP state vice president Tame Phassang said the Congress is raking up the issue of unrest with an eye on the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
