At a time when the entire state of Assam is on the boil over the Citizenship Amendment Bill, a recent remark by founder president of the Cachar, Karimganj & Hailakandi students’ union Pradeep Dutta Rai has sparked a major controversy.

Pradeep Rai has threatened the students of Assam University who have been protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

Pradeep Rai has cautioned the students of the University from protesting against the Bill and aid that they should stay away from politics.

Meanwhile, AASU General Secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi slammed Pradeep Rai’s remark and said that such kind of threatening statements is of no use in Assam.
