BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Tripura on January 5 to check the party’s preparedness for the Lok Sabha elections.
Shah will be accompanied by National secretaries Ajay Jambal and Ram Madhav, Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other leaders.
During the visit, Shah will address a conference of ‘Pristha Pramukhs’, considered to be the BJP’s organizational backbone.
There would be no public rally as it would be purely an organisational matter, and only Pristha Pramukhs would participate in the conference apart from state-level leaders of the BJP. Shah is also slated to visit Tripurasundari temple in Udaipur.
Addressing a news conference on Wednesday evening at the BJP state office, party general secretary Pratima Bhowmick confirmed this.
