School Girl Kidnapped by Her Friend Rescued, 1 Arrested

Guwahati Police rescued a schoolgirl who was abducted from Paltan Bazar and taken to Borpathar in Golaghat district of Assam.

The victim, a student of Nicholes Higher Secondary School, was allegedly lured out of her home by a youth known to her before being kidnapped from Manipuri Basti area in Paltan Bazar.

Sources revealed that the kidnappers fed her intoxicating substances before abducting her.

Acting swiftly, Paltan Bazar Police tracked the victim’s location and launched an operation that led to her rescue. During the operation, one of the accused was arrested, while three others managed to escape.

Investigations revealed that one of the kidnappers was a friend of the victim.

Police efforts are going on to apprehend the remaining suspects.
