The deadline has been extended after the Assam Government submitted a plea before the apex Court for extension of deadline for filing of claims and objections.
Notably, State NRC-Cordinator Prateek Hajela has informed the Supreme Court that about 14.8 lakh out of 40 lakh people left out of the draft NRC have filed claims.
