After Singapore became the first country to announce its decision to partner Assam in the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, a high-level delegation led by Assam’s Revenue, IT, and Science and Technology Minister, Keshab Mahanta, visited Bangkok, Thailand, on January 9 to showcase Assam’s untapped potential as an investment destination and get Thai businesses and corporates to participate at the Investment Summit scheduled for February 24-25, in Guwahati.
The delegation engaged with Thai businesses, particularly from the hospitality and tourism sectors and invited them to join the state’s growth story. Ambassador Nargesh Singh warmly welcomed the delegation, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between India and Thailand.

During the roadshow in Bangkok, Keshab Mahanta highlighted Assam’s strides in infrastructure, tourism, and technology, positioning the state as a hub for dynamic business opportunities. The initiative follows successful investor meets in Mumbai and Delhi, where Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led the charge.
Taking to X Chief Minister Sarma wrote, “After Delhi and Mumbai, our investor roadshows now reach Thailand. Over the next few days, Team Assam will travel to the US, Singapore, Japan, and other countries to share with global investors our vision for #AdvantageAssam2.”
With a packed global itinerary that includes stops in the United States, Singapore, and Japan, the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative reflects the state’s ambition to attract diverse investments and position itself as a key player in India’s economic growth story. Singapore will be the first partner country for the summit.
