BJP’s ally in Tripura, the IPFT is considering contesting both the Lok Sabha seats in Tripura alone.
Speaking on the issue, IPFT General Secretary Mangal Debbarma said that since its coalition partner BJP has not discussed on the seat sharing arrangements for the upcoming general elections and has declared to contest alone from both the parliamentary seats, it has no other option but to contest from both the seats.
The IPFT also opposed the Citizenship Amendment Bill and said that the Bill threatens the indigenous populace of Tripura. It demanded immediate scrapping of the Bill.
Meanwhile, the IPFT will be launching ‘Delhi Abhijan’ on the 2nd week of December to press its demand for a separate Twipraland.
More than 1000 activists of the party are likely to take part in the agitation in New Delhi to raise its demand for separate Twipraland State.
Besides, the IPFT leadership is also likely to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the issue.
