To encourage women voters, pink polling booths were set up in each constituency of the state.

These booths are locally known as Dingdi in Mizoram, named after a wildflower commonly available in the state, Dingdi is used by poets to depict beautiful women.

Each of the polling booths have one presiding officer, three polling officials and sufficient security personnel, state election department officials.

The all women booths have been created to encourage more women voters to come forward and vote.
