The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), has recognised tea, along with water and coffee, as "healthy".
In a major announcement that will boost the tea industry, the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), has recognised tea, along with water and coffee, as “healthy”.
But it has to contain less than 5 calories per labelled serving.
Manufacturers can now voluntarily display the “healthy” claim on tea packaging, making it easier for health-conscious consumers to pick beverages that contribute to a balanced diet.
USFDA has officially included tea in its definition of “healthy”.
This change, highlighted in the USFDA’s executive summary, underscores the growing emphasis on low-calorie, natural beverage options as part of a healthier lifestyle.
Tea lovers now have an official nod from the USFDA to sip guilt-free while reaping the numerous health benefits associated with their favourite brew.
