After Releasing Owner, Clerk Abducted from Stone Quarry in Tinsukia

In a significant development, an incident of abduction has come to light from Assam’s Tinsukia district, where suspected militants allegedly kidnapped a businessman and clerk from a stone quarry located in Tinsukia district.
The businessman identified as Bhai Chetry, who is the owner of the stone quarry has reportedly been receiving threats from the militants, and was abducted along with clerk Prakash Bahadur Chetry under suspicious circumstances.
Notably, Bhai Chetry, the owner was later released in Tirap of Arunachal Pradesh, but the clerk of the stone quarry Prakash Bahadur Chetry remains in captivity.
This incident marks the second case of abduction in the region in the past two months, with authorities suspecting the involvement of ULFA-I. Further probe into the incident is underway.
