Suspected ULFA-I cadres abduct tea garden manager in Assam’s Sonari

Suspected rebels of the proscribed ULFA-I have kidnapped a tea garden manager from Sonari in Charaideo district. The victim identified as Nomal Baruah was abducted from the Timonbahi tea estate.

The victim identified as Nomal Baruah was abducted from the Timonbahi tea estate.

Baruah’s family members disclosed that 4 heavily armed persons who claimed to be ULFA-I rebels abducted him. Besides the victim’s family member also appealed for Baruah’s safe release.

The latest incident of kidnapping comes 48 hours of a stone crushing unit’s manager being kidnapped from Eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district.

Earlier, late Monday night armed miscreants who also claimed to be ULFA-I rebels abducted Apurba Kakoty from Jagun in Tinsukia.

As per eyewitnesses, Kakoty was kidnapped by a group of three suspected ULFA-I cadres.

Meanwhile, the law and order situation in Eastern Assam seems to have gone for a toss with suspected rebels of the ULFA-I carrying out subversive activities without any check.
