Over 40,000 Visitors Throng Hornbill Festival on First 2 Days

The 25th Hornbill Festival that began on December 1 has already seen over 40,000 visitors soaking in the tradition and culture, tastes, sounds and colours of Nagaland, which is in full display at the festival.
Not just Naga tribes, but tribal troupes from other Northeastern states have participated in the festival and given spirited performances.
Today also the day is turning out to be action packed as several colourful performances have been given by the cultural troupes giving visitors a peek into the Naga culture and way of life.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will be visiting the festival as the chief guest.
The first half of the event saw Nagaland deputy chief minister Y Patton being present at the Festival as the chief host of the morning session of Day 3. He was joined by Sikkim tourism minister Tshering Thendup Bhutia. Sikkim is the partner state for the 25the Hornbill Festival.
The performances by various cultural troupes are in store from various tribes of Nagaland for the third day. Along with them, cultural troupes from neighbouring states will also be putting up a splendid colourful show for the visitors, giving them a glimpse of the tribal culture of Nagaland and the other Northeastern states.
While the event saw spirited performances by tribes such as Konyaks, Lothas, and Chakhesangs, the later half of the day is scheduled to see a spectacular log drum performance.
