These decisions come at a time when Tripura is working towards bolstering its infrastructure and improving the livelihoods of its people.

The Tripura Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Manik Saha, announced a series of decisions during its meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday. These initiatives, ranging from increased benefits for the state’s police forces to significant recruitments in education, sports, and fisheries, signal the government’s focus on enhancing welfare and infrastructure across critical sectors.

One of the major decision was a Diwali bonanza for the state’s police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel. The Cabinet approved a doubling of the monthly ration allowance for both groups, increasing it from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000.

Additionally, the annual dress allowance for TSR personnel has been increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000, while Tripura Police personnel will now receive Rs. 9,500, up from Rs. 7,500. These decisions will directly benefit 21,794 personnel and are expected to boost morale significantly.

According to spokesperson Susanta Chaudhury, these allowances will incur an additional monthly expenditure of Rs. 2.94 crore and an annual cost of Rs. 26.15 crore for the state government. Chaudhury emphasized that these steps aim to support the police force, which plays a vital role in maintaining law and order in the state.

In addition to these benefits, the Cabinet addressed recruitment in key sectors to strengthen education, sports, and fisheries. The School Education Department is set to recruit 125 Physical Education Teachers, while the Youth Affairs and Sports Department will hire 75 Physical Instructors to promote sports education and nurture emerging talent.

Furthermore, the Fisheries Department will fill 53 vacant posts of Fishery Officers (Grade I) to help the state achieve self-reliance in fish production, a crucial step toward boosting local economies and sustainable agriculture.

Minister Chaudhury highlighted that these recruitments are aligned with the government’s broader vision of socio-economic development. By focusing on sectors that directly impact the lives of citizens, the state government aims to foster long-term growth and self-sufficiency.

These decisions come at a time when Tripura is working towards bolstering its infrastructure and improving the livelihoods of its people. From uplifting the morale of its security forces to advancing education, sports, and fisheries, the Cabinet’s comprehensive measures are expected to drive significant positive change across the state.
