The clash occurred near the BJP office in Salmari Bazar, as Congress workers were returning from a meeting.

As politicking picks pace in Assam ahead of by-polls, another incident of prepoll violence within a week rocked the Samaguri Assembly seat.

Another violent clash erupted between Congress and BJP supporters on Friday, resulting in at least six injuries.

The clash occurred near the BJP office in Salmari Bazar, as Congress workers were returning from a meeting. Both sides engaged in physical violence, leading to immediate injuries.

Among the injured, three BJP workers have been identified as Dilwar Hussain, Abdur Rahman and Abu Taher who are in a serious condition and admitted in Guwahati Medical College & Hospital.

BJP MLA Jitu Goswami visited the hospital and reached the spot of violence to take stock of the situation.

The BJP has squarely blamed Dhubri MP Rakibul Hussain for allegedly inciting Congress workers into attacking BJP party workers. MLA Jitu Goswami warned Congress that if the situation is not controlled, the BJP might take further action, including holding a silent protest.

It needs to be mentioned that earlier, a BJP worker was killed in pre-poll violence in Samaguri on October 15. And on November 3 another pre-poll violence was reported from Juria under the Samaguri assembly constituency which is going to by-poll on November 13.
