80 People Fall Ill After Consuming Chana Mixture During Football Match in Meghalaya, Probe Ordered

Six individuals were referred to major hospitals for treatment, while food samples have been sent for testing.

At least 80 people fell ill after consuming chana mixture during a football match at Chenanggre Stadium, A’dokgre in North Garo Hills, Meghalaya.

All the people who fell ill were immediately rushed to A’dokgre Primary Health Centre (PHC), with six individuals requiring further treatment at hospitals in Guwahati and Goalpara due to the severity of their condition.

According to the latest reports from the medical department, all affected individuals are now out of danger. Samples of the food have been sent to a laboratory in Shillong for testing, and the district administration is awaiting both the inquiry report and the lab test results for further action.

The district administration of North Garo Hills has launched an investigation into incident.
