Not Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Or Alia Bhatt! Here’s The Only Indian Celeb In The List Of 10 Most Beautiful Women In The World List
Beauty is often said to lie in the eyes of the beholder, yet it can also be quantified through various standards. A prominent method involves the Golden Ratio, a principle rooted in ancient Greek aesthetics that has been embraced by modern beauty experts. Recently, the London Facial Plastic Surgery Centre utilized this method to compile a list of the ten most beautiful women in the world, based on scientific measurements of facial symmetry.
In this list, Deepika Padukone stands out as the only Indian celebrity, showcasing her extraordinary features as determined by the Golden Ratio of Beauty. In 2023, Dr. Julian De Silva revealed the names and scores of celebrities evaluated through this technique, with Deepika securing the ninth position, achieving a score of 91.22%. The top ten is led by Jodie Comer scored an impressive 94.52%. The full list is as follows:
- Jodie Comer – 94.52%
- Zendaya – 94.37%
- Bella Hadid – 94.35%
- Beyoncé – 92.44%
- Ariana Grande – 91.81%
- Taylor Swift – 91.64%
- Jourdan Dunn – 91.39%
- Kim Kardashian – 91.28%
- Deepika Padukone – 91.22%
- HoYeon Jung – 89.63%
How is the Golden Ratio Measured?
The Golden Ratio, often referred to as Phi, is a mathematical formula historically linked to the beauty found in nature and art. In facial aesthetics, this ratio can be applied to measure the symmetry of a person’s face. The key to determining this ratio lies in two main steps: measuring the length and width of the face and then dividing the length by the width. The closer the result is to 1.62, the more “perfect” the facial symmetry.
Additionally, facial feature distances, such as the space between the eyes, the distance from the nose to the chin, and the width of the mouth, are also measured and compared to the Golden Ratio standard. The closer these features align to the 1.62 ratio, the higher the individual’s beauty score.
How is the Golden Ratio Applied?
At the London Facial Plastic Surgery Centre, specialists use advanced digital mapping techniques to analyse facial features. Dr De Silva explains: “We use software to measure the proportions of facial features such as the nose, eyes, and lips. These distances are then compared to the ideal proportions as dictated by the Golden Ratio.”
By digitally mapping the face, the software highlights key points such as the eyes, nose, and mouth, calculating how closely they align with this famous ratio. This technique not only serves as a fascinating exploration of beauty standards but also explains why certain faces are universally appealing.
For Deepika Padukone, this scientific analysis has made her place as one of the most beautiful women in the world, marking her as a global icon of beauty.
