Arunachal’s Sambo Lapung Wins Gold And Kojum Taba Takes Silver In Inter-State Weightlifting C’ship 2024, Himachal Pradesh

Two weightlifters from Arunachal Pradesh have once again showcased their exceptional talent at the Inter-State Weightlifting Championship 2024 held in Himachal Pradesh.

Sambo Lapung emerged as a standout performer, clinching the gold medal in the Senior Men’s category, a remarkable achievement that not only elevated his status in the sport but also brought pride to his home state.

Competing alongside Lapung, Kojum Taba showed impressive grit and determination, securing the silver medal in the Senior Men’s 102kg category. Their outstanding performances highlight the growing stature of weightlifting in Arunachal Pradesh.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu lauded the achievements of both athletes, stating, “Congratulations to Arunachal’s pride! Kudos to Kojum Taba for clinching a silver medal and another golden victory for Sambo Lapung. Your achievements continue to make our state proud. Best wishes for more success ahead!”
