Tripura: Pradyot Debbarma to Give Financial Aid of Rs 50,000 to Each Family Affected by Floods in August This Year

Amid growing accusations against the central government for neglecting Tripura’s flood crisis, TIPRA Motha founder and Tripura Royal Scion Pradyot Debbarma has reaffirmed his commitment to helping those in need. He has announced that he will provide Rs 50,000 to each family affected by the devastating floods that occurred in August this year.

Notably, Debbarma will be giving this financial aid from his own account.

The Tripura Royal Scion will visit Devipur, Santirbazar, Jashmura Reang Para, and Rajnagar today to meet the families affected by the devastating floods that struck in August.

During his visit, he will personally hand over the financial aid to the victims.

He emphasized his commitment to supporting those impacted by the disaster, stating, “Some people may have forgotten, but I will not.”

“Tomorrow I will visit Devipur,Santirbazar and Jashmura Reang Para, Rajnagar and meet the families of those victims who died due to the devastating floods in August . I will also hand them over Rs 50,000 to the affected family from my personal account . Some people may have forgotten I will not ! Hope to see my dear warriors there as well helping the families,” Debbarma posted on X.

Earlier on September 1, he along with his sister and Member of Parliament, Kriti Devi Singh Debbarma visited the Gaddang Ashwini Tripura Para area in the Shantirbazar Assembly constituency of South Tripura and handed over a cheque of Rs. 50,000 as an ex-gratia payment to each of the affected families.

He also urged all political parties and the public to set aside their differences and work together to address the current crisis, as the state of Tripura has been severely impacted by recent natural disasters.

Devastating floods recently ravaged the state, causing an estimated loss of Rs 14,000 crore and claiming 39 lives.
