Amid the ongoing heatwave that has gripped the state, the Met department has predicted that soaring temperatures are likely to continue in Assam, at least till tomorrow.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Assam is likely to be 4 to 5 degrees higher than the average of 35 degrees in the next 48 hours.
As per the Regional Meteorological Centre located in Borjhar, Guwahati, the sky will remain cloudy for the next 48 hours, but the temperature will be above 35 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, North Lakhimpur recorded the highest temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius in Assam yesterday. At the same time, Dibrugarh recorded 38.5, Tezpur 38.5, Nagaon 38.2, Guwahati 38.2, Rangia 38 and Tinsukia recorded 37.9 degrees Celsius.
