Meghalaya Govt Announces First Fully Digital Lottery with Rs 50 Cr Prize Money

In a major step toward modernizing the lottery sector to deliver a user-friendly and efficient lottery system for people, the Meghalaya government has launched its first fully digital lottery, offering participants a chance to win a staggering Rs 50 crore in prize money.
The official website, EasyLottery.in, was also launched in conjunction with the announcement in Delhi today.
Launching the website, Chief Minister Sangma praised the digital initiative for enhancing transparency and professionalism within the lottery industry.
He emphasized that while lottery remains a game of chance, the introduction of a transparent digital option like EasyLottery ensures that both individuals and society benefit.
He noted the growing concerns about online games and illegal betting apps, which are often addictive and unregulated. By contrast, EasyLottery aims to offer a secure and enjoyable alternative that contributes positively to society.
M. S. N. Marak, Director of Meghalaya State Lottery said, “With EasyLottery, we are focusing on three characteristic aspects…trust, transparency and legality. We are bringing it to the people of the country after extensive and intensive research.”
The digital platform promises to revolutionize the lottery experience by providing a seamless and transparent process from ticket purchase to prize money disbursement.
EasyLottery: Unique Aspects:
EasyLottery will be unique in terms of its steadfastness to the mission of responsible lottery. The systems are programmed in such a way that it can detect a person on a losing streak, but who is continually purchasing more tickets; and automatically suspend their account temporarily. This is to ensure that the customers are trying their luck in a safe and limited capacity. Winning streak accounts will not be suspended, even temporarily.
Tickets, Pricing and Prizes:
The ticket purchasing technique offers 3 selection options to the player to choose what suits them best, as follows.
• Option 1: Random Selection, where the ticket number is randomly selected by the system.
• Option 2: Total Sum Selection, where one can choose a digit from one to nine, wherein the sum of the digits of the ticket number will be the number one chooses.
• Option 3: Complete Selection, wherein buyers will have the freedom to choose the exact ticket number(s) they like.
EasyLottery will have the highest odds of winning various large prizes including the first prize of Rs 50 crore which is the largest-ever first prize in the history of lotteries in India.
Each ticket is priced at Rs 5,000.
