A major fire broke out at the Fancy Bazar area of Guwahati late Tuesday night. The fire broke at the godown of a business establishment at Kamala Market.

While the fire engulfed most parts of the building, the fire brigade managed to rescue four people from the spot. Three of the rescued persons are undergoing medical treatment.

As per sources, the fire broke out at the godown owned by one Niru Jain at the basement of the Kamala Market building.

About ten fire tenders arrived at the spot and succeeded in dousing the fire after about four hours.
