At least 4 hardcore criminals have escaped from the jail at Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh.

As per inputs, the criminals escaped from the jail after breaking open the ventilator grill and injuring the sentry on duty.

Those who escaped from the jail have been identified as Maheshwar Dihingia, Gopal Munda, Arjun Kanda, and Robin Soren.

It may be mentioned that among these, Maheswar Dihingia is an NSCN (U) cadre.

Further investigation is underway.

Last year, on March 27, two National Socialist Council of Nagaland – Khaplang (NSCN-K) operatives identified as Roksen Homcha and Titpu Kitnya escaped from the Khonsa Jail in Tirap district, by killing a security guard on duty.

Later, after a week-long search operation in various places, a team of the state task force (STF), Assam Rifles and CRPF apprehended Rocksen Homcha from an abandoned building at Bogapani in the district.
