Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla addressing a political session at Lalthanhawla auditorium in Aizawl said that the Congress will miss the two prominent leaders, R Lalzirliana and Lalrinliana Sailo, who quit the party recently.

The Chief Minister in his address said that although their absence would be felt, the Congress party has suitable replacements for the two vacant posts at their disposal.

The Chief Minister further said that all the state Congress party leaders have been supporting each other in running the government for a long time and the two MLAs who left were accorded the best of spaces within the party but they probably were not still satisfied so they left.

Lalthanhawla interestingly said that the Congress party is like a train station where many people depart and arrived at the same time.

Weeks after the Home Minister and senior Congress leader R Lalzirliana quit the Congress, former Health Minister and sitting MLA Lalrinliana Sailo also resigned from the party to join the MNF.

The latest developments can be termed as a massive blow to the Congress in Mizoram.
