Arunachal Assembly Passes Key Examination Bill 2024 To Curb Unfair Practices In Govt Recruitment Exams

Now anyone found indulging in malpractices like leaking question papers will be given stringent penalties including a jail term and a fine of up to Rs one crore.

The Arunachal Pradesh Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill 2024 aimed at cleansing the examination system in government recruitment examinations has been passed by the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly today during the ongoing eight-day budget session of the Assembly.

With the passage of the Bill, it is just a step away from becoming an Act. The Arunachal Pradesh Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act 2024 now awaits the Governor’s consent to become an Act.

The passage of the legislation holds significance as it has been drafted in the backdrop of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak case of 2022 which put many student’s futures at stake.

Once implemented, the legislation is expected to ensure a free and fair selection process for all posts under the government of Arunachal and detect malpractices.

Now anyone found indulging in malpractices like leaking question papers will be given stringent penalties including a jail term and a fine of up to Rs one crore.

Besides, the Assembly also passed the Arunachal Pradesh Amending Bill, 2024.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu thanked his legislator colleagues for their support in the successful passage of these two crucial Bills.

Together, we remain committed to work for a more transparent, fair, and progressive governance framework in our state,” CM Khandu posted on X.
