Heavy rains triggered major landslides in several parts of Arunachal Pradesh today. Due to landslides, the Akajan – Likabali – Bame national highway was blocked at several points between Likabali in Lower Siang district and Rilu village. The Deputy Commissioner of Lower Siang district, sent an urgent message to his counterparts in Leparada, West Siang, Siang, Shi Yomi and Upper Subansiri as well as to the Divisional Commissioner of Western Zone based in Yachuli alerting the concerned authorities about the road blocks. He also stated that, until now, there are no reports of human casualties.
