Assam: 28-year-old man kills friend over monetary dispute, arrested

In a shocking incident, 28-year-old man was allegedly killed by his friend over a financial dispute in Assam’s Kokrajhar on Sunday night.

The incident took place in the New Amguri village, under the Balajan police station in Kokrajhar district.

The deceased has been identified as Derhasat Basumatary (20), while the accused was identified as Boga Basumatary.

As per inputs, Derhasat and Boga were involved in a financial dispute, following which Boga allegedly slashed Derhasat’s throat with a sharp weapon, leading to his immediate death.

Following the incident, Kokrajhar police acted swiftly, arresting accused.

The body of the deceased was sent to Kokrajhar Sadar police station for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
