The crack in the opposition Congress in Meghalaya is deepening, claimed NPP MLA Estamur Mominin while stating that some more Congress MLAs are expected to join the NPP very soon.

The NPP’s Phulbari MLA, Mominin based his claims on the interactions he supposedly had with several Congress MLAs recently.

Significantly, Mominin said that the NPP’s doors are also open to veteran politician DD Lapang who recently quit the Congress in protest against the AICC’s alleged policy to phase out old leaders.

The Congress received a massive jolt in Meghalaya last week when 5-time Meghalaya chief minister and veteran leader DD Lapag quit the party.

Earlier, another senior Congress leader MM Danggo had quit the party to join the NPP.
