In a milestone achievement, doctors at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Arunachal Pradesh successfully performed the state’s first primary angioplasty, saving the life of a 61-year-old diabetic patient.

He was later diagnosed with Inferior wall myocardial infarction (MI) and was shifted to TRIHMS.

Since he was in the window period (for a test designed to detect a specific disease), he was thrombolysis with streptokinase. Despite that, he experienced a heart attack.

He then experienced ventricular tachycardia (VT) before the Right coronary artery (RCA) could be hooked.

After the patient received a defibrillator shock, CPR was initiated.

Doctors performed an emergency primary angioplasty, which was completed successfully, marking a significant milestone for the hospital and the state.
