Shillong smart city projects progressing fast, 3 projects nearing completion: Meghalaya Dy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar

Meghalaya deputy Chief Minister informed that parking space for around 1000 cars will be completed soon in the city.
Meghalaya deputy Chief Minister, in-charge of Urban Affairs, Sniawbhalang Dhar said that under the Shillong Smart City Project, the state government has completed three projects.
Speaking to reporters in Shillong on Friday, Dhar informed that the construction of a commercial complex at Polo, construction and redevelopment of Laitumkhrah Municipal Market, implementation of Integrated Command and Control Centre and Smart Elements have been completed so far and the projects will be implemented soon.
He further informed that parking space for around 1000 cars will be completed soon in the city.
He also stated that citizen will see a new Police Bazar with the construction of a business-cum-tourism centre.
He said, “The people will see a new Police Bazar and it will be of Singapore standard.”
Dhar said the centre, which earlier houses the office of the Meghalaya Transport Corporation, is scheduled to complete in a year’s time. The project is being implemented under Shillong Smart City at Rs 216 crore.
While speaking on the relocation of hawkers, Dhar said, “The state government is yet to finalise a place to relocate the hawkers.”
He added that the authorities have identified around 2-3 locations to relocate the hawkers which will be inside the city.
Responding to the state government’s plan to relocate the hawkers before June, Dhar said they are trying to relocate the hawkers at the earliest.
