Security agencies unearth expanding Hizbul net in Assam; one more land in police custody

The Assam police has detained another person who is suspected to have maintained close links with Hizbul Mujahideen militant from Assam Qamer-uz-Zaman who was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist
The Assam police has detained another person who is suspected to have maintained close links with Hizbul Mujahideen militant from Assam Qamer-uz-Zaman who was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad on Thursday.
The arrested person has been identified as Omar Farooq. Farooq was arrested from Byrnihat in Meghalaya, who is a resident of Jamunamukh in Nagaon district which is also the hometown of Qamer-uz-Zaman.
Meanwhile, security agencies are on a lookout for five other youths from Hojai who are suspected to have joined the Pakistan based terror group Hizbul Mujahideen.
Earlier, following Zaman’s arrest in Uttar Pradesh, police in Assam had arrested Shah Nawaz Alom a close aide of Zaman from Hojai and also picked up a student Saidul Alom from Lanka.
