Arunachal: 6 more arrested in connection with inter-state sex racket, one minor girl rescued

This brings the total number of victims rescued to 5, and the total number of arrests to 21.

Continuing the investigation into the major inter-state sex trafficking racket, Itanagar police have arrested 6 more accused, including three pimps and three sexual assailants. Police have also rescued one more minor victim from a lodge at Zoo Road in Chimpu.

Among the arrestees involved in the heinous crime is a police personnel.

6 arrested persons have been identified as–Dulal Basumatary (52), Dipali Basumatary (44), Deepak Parajuli (24), Saddam Hussain (26), all residents of Assam and Toi Bagra (35) Deputy SP of Bulang Marik posted at 1st AAPBN in Itanagar, Constable.

Dulal Basumatary and Dipali Basumatary are husband and wife who run the City Hotel on Zoo Road in Chimpu.

After collecting more technical and human inputs, the Itanagar Police on May 11, identified the husband-wife duo, as well as the hotel manager Deepak Parajuli, who acted as another pair of pimps, forcing minor girls into the flesh trade by arranging customers.

Further, the team also learned that the accused had also trafficked one more minor girl who has been rescued.

The Itanagar Police has busted a massive inter-state sex trafficking racket last week.

As many as 5 minor girls were rescued and 15 persons including traffickers, pimps and sexual assailants were arrested in connection with the racket.

The racket was busted after the Capital Police team got credible inputs of a prostitution racket involving minor girls being run from Chimpu. The girls were being taken from Dhemaji in the neighbouring state of Assam.
