Incessant rainfall in the past 24 hours have created havoc in the state of Sikkim leading to massive landslides in Western part of the state.
The landslide has completely blocked roads affecting daily commute. Yangtey village, Geyzing are the places which have been severely affected, no casualties have yet been reported.
In West Sikkim’s Geyzing, a building collapsed after incessant rains wreaked havoc in the state.
According to reports, heavy rains since the last two days had made the building fragile and develop cracks.
Inhabitants, on the other hand, have been evacuated by the district authority. No loss of life has been reported so far.
Meanwhile, another landslide has been reported on National Highway 10 closing the important Siliguri-Gangtok road.
