Sain expressed gratitude to the people of Arunachal Pradesh for their support in conducting a free, fair, and peaceful election

Arunachal Pradesh has set a precedent by depositing 100% of arm licenses before the upcoming elections, announced by Chief Electoral Officer Pawan Kumar Sain.

Addressing the media, Sain expressed gratitude to the people of Arunachal Pradesh for their support in conducting a free, fair, and peaceful election.

The comprehensive security measures undertaken by the state authorities have garnered praise. Sain highlighted the dedication of District Electoral Officers (DEOs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) in ensuring the safety of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during transportation to polling stations.

Notably, the seizure of 753 illegal arms underscores the meticulous monitoring and enforcement efforts.
In addition to the successful disarmament campaign, Sain outlined proactive measures to maintain law and order. With 166 individuals identified as potential disruptors, authorities have taken preemptive action by detaining 4,023 individuals and arresting 199 others. The suspension of a Junior Engineer from the power department for neglect of duty demonstrates the administration’s commitment to accountability.

Furthermore, the deployment of additional Special Striking Teams (SSTs), Quick Response Teams (QRTs), and Flying Squads (FSTs), along with the operation of 87 inter-state Nodal Action Committees (NACAs), highlights the focus on ensuring a secure electoral process.
