The state of Assam today observed the 35th Abhiruchi Sports Day, held yearly on the Birth Anniversary of veteran sportsman Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah.

The day is being observed in various parts of the state and a procession was taken out on Monday morning at Guwahati form Chandmari to the Nehru Stadium.

Distinguished sports-persons and sports organisers of the state were felicitated during the occasion.
