Tragic: Boat capsizes in Brahmaputra, 3 including 2 children dead

According to sources, eighteen passengers including children and eldery people were onboard on the boat, was ferrying to Kali Alga Ghat to Nepur Alga Charanchal when the mishap occurred.
In a tragic incident reported from the Indo-Bangladesh border in Hatsingimari in South-Salmara Mankachar district in Assam, a boat capsized in the Brahmaputra river due to heavy rainfall and storm on Sunday evening claiming the lives of three people including two children and an elderly man.
According to sources, eighteen passengers including children and eldery people were onboard the boat, that was ferrying the people from Kali Alga Ghat to Nepur Alga when the mishap occurred.
A rescue operation was launched by the State Diaster Response Force (SDRF) to rescue the drowning passengers.
With the help of local people and boatsmen, severeal passengers were rescued while some went missing.
The bodies got washed away and were found downstream in Bangladesh.
