Assam CM and BJP leader Himanta Biswa offers ministerial berth to state Cong president Bhupen Bora

Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that on March 31, many Congress leaders will be quitting the grand old party.
Days after claiming that the present Assam Congress president Bhupen Bora will be joining the BJP, Assam CM and one of the BJP’s top strategist, Himanta Biswa Sarma today offered a ministerial berth to Bora as and when he becomes a part of the Saffron party.
Affirming that Bora will be a part of the BJP soon, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Bhupen Bora will join BJP in 2025. Like there is Modi’s gurantee, this is Himanta’s guarantee. He will be joining the BJP by January, February or March (2025). We will welcome him with great respect, we will be bringing him to make an MLA, a minister. But now he wants to become the Chief Minister, we will think about it too. If a good person becomes a CM than we have no issues. BJP creates leaders, I too was bought from the Congress and made a CM. So if any Congress leader wishes to become a CM than they must join the BJP.”
Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that on March 31, many Congress leaders will be quitting the grand old party.
Sarma said, “Lots of people have joined the BJP by quitting the Congress. On March 31 too, many Congress leaders will be joining the BJP, I think that until the last day of the Lok Sabha election many Opposition leaders will be joining the BJP only to strengthen the hand of PM Narendra Modi. By 2026, people in Assam, whether Hindu or Muslim and all Indian citizens irrespective of languages they speak will be joining the BJP. The Miya Muslims will also join the BJP by 2032.”
In the last couple of months, two of the three working presidents of Assam PCC have lent their support to BJP.
Working president Rana Goswami has joined the saffron party, whereas another working president and MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha sparked a controversy by announcing that he, alongwith another Congress MLA Basanta Das, will support the BJP-led govt without deserting Congress.
If reports are to be believed, the Congress in Assam said that it will take the legal route to counter the repeated claim of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma that Assam PCC chief Bhupen Kumar Borah will soon join the ruling BJP.
