HM Amit Shah to visit poll-bound Assam on April 6

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Guwahati on April 6, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
Chief Minister Sarma also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president J P Nadda are also likely to visit the state soon.
“The blessings and guidance of these leaders inspire us (party workers), so I hope they will pay a visit to the state during the crucial period of elections,” said CM Sarma.
Speaking about BJP’s poll strategy, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Our goal is to make sure our party’s victory in each pooling booth because we would only win the battle if we win in all booths.”
In Assam, BJP is contesting in 11 seats while its ally party Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is contesting in Barpeta and Dhubri seats and UPPL in Kokrajhar seat.
Earlier, CM Sarma exuded confidence that BJP and its allies will win 13 out of 14 parliamentary seats in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
In 2019, BJP had won 9 of the 10 seats while its allies contesting from Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Dhubri and Kaliabor had drawn a blank.
Elections for the 18th Lok Sabha will be held in seven phases, in Assam voting will take place in three phases on April 19, April 26 and May 7. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.
