Retired bureaucrat Jalash Pertin was sworn-in as the new member of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) today.

He was administered the oath of office by Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik at a ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

Besides Pertin, newly appointed members of Arunachal Pradesh Information Commissioner (APIC), Khopey Thaley, Vijay Taram, Dani Gamboo and Sangyal Tsering Bappu were also administered oath of office by the Governor.

Jalash Pertin’s appointment has come after the State cabinet has recommended appointing a new member to the Commission to enhance transparency and efficiency in the Commission.

The cabinet has also amended the syllabus of the APPSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) and has included topics which are more relevant to the state.

The State government in December last year appointed 4 members of the Commission, including its Chairman, Prof Pradip Lingfa, and members Prof Ashan Riddi, Col (Retd) Koj Tari and Rosy Taba.
