Tripura: Pijush Kanti Biswas returns to Congress after TMC stint

Pijush Kanti Biswas is back to the Congress fold. President of Trinamool Congress in Tripura, Biswas, joined the Congress party today in New Delhi.

Biswas, a prominent Tripura High Court lawyer, was the Tripura Congress President till December 2022 after which he had joined TMC and was made the Tripura TMC president.

Biswas re-joined Congress in the presence of All India Congress Committee General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal, Tripura Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and Pradesh Congress in-charge Girish Chodankar.

His return to the Congress fold marks a significant development in the state’s political landscape and is expected to impact the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
