Manipur: Grenade Blast in DM College Campus, 1 dead, 1 injured

The blast reportedly took place at the AMSU Office inside the DM College Campus

A powerful bomb blast was reported from Imphal on Friday night inside the DM University campus, killing 1 and injuring another.

The blast reportedly took place at the AMSU Office inside the DM College Campus around 9:20pm.

Following the incident, the injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, where one of them succumbed to his injuries, while the other is being treated.

As per inputs, two injured persons identified as Salam Michael and Oinam Kenegy were rushed to Raj Medicity, where Oinam Kenegy succumbed to the injuries.

Meanwhile, several Manipur Police teams along with paramilitary forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the entire area, and a search operation was initiated. The police are trying to ascertain the cause of the blast and the people behind it.

Investigations are underway at the site.
