Massive fire guts house in Silchar, miraculous escape for 11 family members

Some prompt action from the police, traffic department, and fire services helped in bringing the flames under control
A massive fire broke out at Tarapur Shivbari Road in Silchar last evening turning a houses into ashes but the 11 family members escaped unharmed.
Property worth several lakhs of rupees was gutted in the fire that broke out due to an electrical short circuit at the residence on Khudiram Sarani. Locals informed that gas cylinders exploded engulfing the whole house turning it into an inferno.
Some prompt action from the police, traffic department, and fire services helped in bringing the flames under control before it could spread to other buildings.
Three fire tenders were dispatched to control the blaze.
On December 24, 2023 a furniture factory and five houses were gutted in a devastating fire that erupted in the Kanakpur area of Silchar suburb. Property worth over Rs 20 lakh was destroyed in the fire.
