Nurse jumps off moving train to get off at destination, dies

In a tragic incident a nurse of Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) died last evening after she allegedly jumped from a moving train to get off at her destination.

The nurse was travelling with her brother Vishal. They were supposed to get down in Kokrajhar. However, as the train did not have any stoppage in Kokrajhar Railway Station, both of them jumped from the moving train when the train reached Kokrajhar.

The nurse has been identified as Parismita Bora, a resident of Komar-chuburi in Tezpur, Sonitpur district of Assam.

As per reports, Parismita Bora had boarded the train from New Bongaigaon Railway Station with her brother last evening.

Parismita Bora died on the spot due to the impact of the fall, while Vishal Taati suffered serious injuries.

Parismita’s body was taken to Rupnath Brahma Civil Hospital later in the evening and the Kokrajhar Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated an investigation into the matter.
